Living in the Tension
by Lisette Jaimez
The Fruit of Repentance, how do we remain cleansed and pure? We learn to live in the tension. Staying in the tension is irreplaceable in our life in God, it's what allows us to make it in life. The question we need to ask ourselves is, can I do tension with the Lord?
I have thought when I've hit a wall and I'm in tension that I was off track and that I'm not walking with the Lord. It's actually not true. Life can be discouraging when I think that I would be following Jesus well if I'm not hitting any walls and experiencing tension. When I'm doing something difficult and I find myself not being able to do this again, I have to ask myself, “how do I connect with God and His people in this place?” I can read books, listen to sermons and teachings but it's in the experience that we learn to see God and His body in our lives. There's no shame, there's connection. You can learn how to thrive in tension. The fear of failure comes up in marriage, parenting, school, work, etc. What do you do? Learn how to face it with Jesus. You can thrive if you learn that.
Jesus' rest is available in his yoke. There's rest in finding God in the ordinary. God is in everything. Are you willing to open your eyes to that reality? God loves us as we are, but he loves us so much, he won't let us stay where we are.
