At Your Service

Mission...

I love how the 3rd area of focus in our community leads us to mission. It reminds me that love is not just a noun, but a verb....It needs to be received and expressed.  I believe the first two areas, Kingdom and Family, can lean more toward receiving, but mission clearly points to something outward...God's desire to reveal himself to others, especially those that are lost.

We tend to say things like, "why would God want to use me?" "He'll just use one of the leaders," or "I need to get my life together first." There is no question that all of us are a work in progress but the reality is that God uses imperfect, ordinary people to do extraordinary things. The Bible is filled with people that God used who either didn't measure up in their own minds or in the minds of others.  It's grace that allows us to know we are accepted (Ephesians 1:6) and empowered to anything he asks us to do (1 Corinthians 15:10). This grace gives us confidence that whatever He calls us to HE can do it through us.

God has a mission for each of us...there are no exceptions.  Our goal in fasting is to make ourselves available to obey what He wants us to do.  He saves us to bring us into his service.  Don't allow your weaknesses to be an excuse...better yet, thank God for them and trust that He has the power to use you despite them!
